Spots Beyond Kathmandu Valley:
Nagarkot:
-
Nagarkot is located 30Km. east from Kathmandu,
altitude of (2175 m.). This place is famous for
the panoramic view of the Himalayas, one can see
Mt. Everest in the east to Mt. Annapurna in the
west. This place is famous for the great view
of sunrise and sunset, snow peaks look especially
gorgeous during Sunset.
Dhulikhel:
-
A small Newari town (1440 M.), about 32 Km. east
from Kathmandu city. It offers a panorama of the
Himalaya that will leave you spellbound. Looking
out over low hills and valleys, the mountains
rise up in and extended arc stretching from the
far left to the far right. This is the magnificent
place to overnight and get up early in the morning
to watch the first rays of the sun hit the summits
and their color change.
Kakani:

About 23 Km. North west from the Kathmandu city
(1982 M.), the trip offers a magnificent view
of Ganesh Himal along with the fresh & serene
atmosphere of the hills. This place is famous
for the majestic view of Sunset, so one should
not miss it.
Panauti:

Panauti is a charming old Newari town, about 30Km.
east from Kathmandu city, located at the confluence
of the Roshi & Pungamati Rivers. Its main
attraction is the 12th century Indreshor Mahadev
Temple, the country's oldest existing pagoda architecture,
whose carved wooden struts are said to be the
finest in Nepal.
Pokhara:

About 200 Km. west from Kathmandu (827 M.), is
well connected by air (30 minute flight) and land
transportation. It is the second biggest city
of this country, it is the city of adventure,
because it is the starting point for many of Nepal's
popular trekking & rafting destination. This
is a city of remarkable beauty, the serenity of
Phewa-Lake and the magnificent summit of Mt. Machapuchre
rising behind, it creates an ambiance of peace
and magic. The major attractions are: - Phewa-Lake,
Barahi Temple, Davi"s fall, Bindabasini Temple
and Seti Gandaki etc.
Lumbini:

Lumbini is the birth place of Lord Buddha, about
300 Km. south-west from Kathmandu. It is well
connected by Air and Land Transportation. The
nativity site is marked by a stone pillar erected
by Indian Emperor Ashoka in 249 BC. Who visited
Lumbini as a pilgrim? It is also listed in world
heritage site by UNESCO. Here one can see the
Ashoka Pillar, image of Mayadevi (mother of Buddha),
Puskani-Pond, where Buddha"s mother had taken
a bath before giving birth to Buddha, sacred Thai
Temple, China Temple, Myanmar Temple etc.
